Ground Floor: Foral Armed Police Corps and 1936 Ertzaņa

   The exhibition begins on this floor, and features the earlier FORAL (TERRITORIAL STATUTORY) ARMED POLICE CORPS and 1936 ERTZAŅA.

   A tour of this floor begins with an exhibit of the Foral Armed Police Corps, as a historical precedent of today's Ertzaintza. The following regional corps have been in existence since the 18th century:

   Documents, uniforms, memorabilia, video productions and extensive computerised data is available on these forces.

   Access to the second area is through an illuminated tunnel. This area includes:

   The Ertzaņa was the first unified foral police force for the whole of the Basque Country. It operated until the coming of the Dictatorship. Extensive documentation of all types and video productions teach about the development of the Ertzaņa.

First Floor: Local Police Forces and the Ertzaintza

   The first floor features the LOCAL POLICE FORCES OF THE BASQUE HISTORICAL TERRITORIES AND THE ERTZAINTZA. Of interest on the Ertzaintza, the museum displays its geographical deployment and some of its duties in regards to: Police Administration, Public Safety, Criminal Investigation Department, and Operational Resources, exhibiting a variety of information on interactive, computer and video production format.
